Knapp Architects is consulting preservation architect to Gelfand Partners Architects for the Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation, which is converting the historic building to house the homeless. Our role as preservation architect includes preparation of federal preservation tax credit documentation and construction documents for the interior and exterior rehabilitation. In addition to providing new units for housing, major historic public spaces will be rehabilitated for resident services. The exterior rehabilitation of exterior masonry includes repair of terra cotta and brick, repointing, and replacement of missing or damaged units. The project is currently in construction.
